Assignment description:

We are looking for a Network/DevOps Engineer to strengthen our Engineering Team. As a Network/DevOps Engineer, you will be a key part of our end-clients technical specialist team. This involves solving complex technical issues and contributing with your expertise in ongoing projects. You will be responsible for the design, deployment, and level 2 support of the infrastructure and solution, and ensuring best practices within TMS and on national signaling systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and document new network and back-end features for the TMS project (e.g. network separation, network access control, firewall rules and Intrusion Prevention System).
  • Implement and document network configuration for existing and new private cloud systems (e.g. new firewall rules, creating new networks, and setting full high availability configuration).
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain the network in operation, training, and test environments (e.g. patch deployment and issue fixing).
  • Work in the DevOps team for the TMS project.
  • Coordinate with the Operation and Maintenance (OAM) team during changes in live environments.
  • Lead on topics to address them end-to-end (requirement refinement/understanding, design, prototyping, implementation, documentation, roll-out to customer system and production, and knowledge sharing).
  • Build expertise in network architecture and features for the TMS project.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant technical education at University level, preferably BSc or equivalent. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
  • Good knowledge of Barracuda firewall (F600) and Barracuda Control Center operation and configuration.
  • Good knowledge of Alcatel OmniSwitch operation and configuration (OmniSwitch 6450 and 9907).
  • Technical knowledge of SQL, bash, and ansible scripting.
  • Competence within Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Autonomous and self-driven, but able to work well in a small team.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Nice to Have:

  • IT and network security.
  • Technical knowledge of Kubernetes.
  • Usage of ElasticSearch, Grafana, Rancher.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence/Wiki.
  • Background in networking.
  • Experience with Java development.
  • Experience within railway, preferably ERTMS and TMS.
